http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8047138.stm

It’s 2099, and across south-east Asia, a hundred million people are on the march, looking for food. The fish they once relied on is gone. Communities are breaking down; economies destroyed.

That is what we can expect, says the new WWF report, if the world’s richest coral reef is destroyed.

And that, it says, could happen this [...]

Hottest winter

2007 is the hottest winter ever recorded in northern hemisphere. It’s what BBC reported a few days ago, according to US researches. Google “hottest winter, BBC” then it comes up with this http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1527818.ece. Nothing in BBC :). Read the 2nd comment, it’s fun.

Anyway, there’s no winter in this equatorial spot, but weather is increasingly unbearable. [...]

Eco: design and deco (2002)

Got this book at Carrefour last week. About 200 pages but a lots photos so could be finished within 4 days or about 6 hours. Pretty good book to know which materials and finishes should be used to build a house more friendly to environment and our health. Rate 4/5.

The chapter about design is good, [...]

She or he

MA’s birthday was quite fun. OpenCV compiling errors. Gave up at 3am… The new release IE7 makes YIM’s plugins disappeared. [...]

…How that slick, a highly toxic cocktail of petrochemical waste and caustic soda, ended up in Mr. Oudrawogol’s backyard in a suburb north of Abidjan is a dark tale of globalization. It came from a Greek-owned tanker flying a Panamanian flag and leased by the London branch of a Swiss [...]
