IdeaPaint

Saw this from my professor note, and it is very exciting. I should paint at least one room with this IdeaPaint (http://ideapaint.com), so we can draw all sort of things there :D

Web background: black or white

I decided to make this new site with black background and light-grey text, mainly for the three following reasons:

Readability: Most websites’ background is in white color, which for me is a bit painful to read after a long period.
Energy consumption: Monitors may use less energy to display a dark-background website than it does for a white-background [...]

Bí ẩn của phong thủy (1991)

Got this book early this month, road side. Lots of books on this topic, but only 2 seemed worth to read, others are simply copied and pasted, mixture of nonsenses. Both are translated versions. One is bought just to know the terms, this one is bought to know fengshui’s history and counter-arguments about it.

This is [...]

Kitchen living (2003)

Got this one last week when planning to renovate the kitchen. Not a very good book though.

The complete home decorator (1991)

Couldn’t sleep early so finished this book last night. Some chapters are quite good (on light arrangement, floor and storage). Some show a primitive and naive belief in chemical miracles (plastic, PVC, vinyl…). Some are simply for professional decor. Rated 3/5.

Works become more complex.

YesNo design

Bought this book last Thursday. Quite simple and easy to read. Lots of repetition: images and text, so could be casually finished in about 2 hours. Those who don’t know what they like and always believe on “experts” would love it, as the comments show. Lots of: I, we, our houseS, our things… that sometimes [...]

Pro Logo (2004), laser TV

A good book on brand (identity – esthetic and ethic, perception, life cycle, how to manage…) & consumer’s behavior. Should be read again.

YouTube was bought by Google at $1.6 billion. Laser-based TV and projectors are announced by Novalux (http://www.novalux.com). Wonder it’s the same technique to reproduce light in labratory. Found this from Berlin physic group [...]

Perception & Imaging (2002)

Pretty good book. Almost everything you need to know about images: color, design, form… and how we perceive. A must read and re-read. The author, Richard D. Zakia, seems to be very knowledgable.

The last 2 weeks were terribly busy with kids and all. Almost exhausted, bodily, with every and whole days out. Things have been [...]
