    Vu-Thanh is responsible for business-to-business market intelligence research and consulting practice on Internet technologies, telecom services, and social media in AMI-Partners, Asia Pacific. In this role, he has successfully led/managed various strategy and go-to-market consulting projects that involved different vendors, large client teams, and multiple countries (e.g., Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) for Fortune 100 and major ICT corporations. He also created new ICT indexes to measure Internet development level in Asia Pacific (Pacnet Broadband Barometer Index), productivity in Singapore (Canon Ambition Gap), and business ICT adoption in 39 countries across the world (BIA index).

    Before joining AMI, Vu-Thanh was a Research Scholar and Research Assistant in Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore (NUS). During his research, he developed new techniques to optimize multimedia streaming over Internet and prototype for a semantic-based video surveillance system. He also researched on non-linear pricing models in NUS Business School, and advised a major VoIP distributor in Vietnam on business strategy.

    With experience in both academic and business research, he is regularly quoted by media and IT publications like ASOCIO, CNBC, Reuters, The Business Times, ZDNet Asia, etc. He has also contributed invited articles for major Vietnamese newspapers, and recently published a translation work of the book “You can negotiate anything” by Herb Cohen in Vietnam.

    Dr. Vu-Thanh Nguyen obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honor) in Electronics and Communications from University of Tasmania (Australia) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from NUS (Singapore). In his free time, he enjoys reading, taking photographs, and swimming.
